Private Tours & Tastings

*** Tours can be subject to restrictions. For more information, please see COVID Update. ***

If you’re looking for a special event for your staff outing, local club, birthday party, Xmas party or just a get together with a group of friends or family, this is the tour for you! We provide private wine tours and tastings throughout the year, offering a unique behind-the-scenes view of our vineyard and winery.

Our tours are designed to be friendly, informative and fun! No prior knowledge is required as our experienced guides will lead you through the ups and downs of the English winemaking.

You’ll visit some of our vines (weather permitting) before heading inside the winery to see the grape-pressing area, the fermentation tanks, the barrel room, fizz room and the bottling line. You will offered 6 different samples of our award-winning wines to taste.

Wine & Cheese Tour option

We can also arrange private Wine & Cheese Tours, that follow exactly the same format of the public ones.

This tour includes a shorter visit of the vineyard and winery, followed by a tutored tasting of wine accompanied by an individual platter of cheese and crackers. Guests will taste 5 wines in total.

Both tours last around 2 hours and end in our Gift Shop & Wine Bar, where you can make purchases or stay for an extra drink with some nibbles.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    Cancellations

If you have to cancel your tour our refund policy apply - see Tours Terms & Conditions.

‘No shows’ on the day are not entitled to a refund, and the value of their ticket is not transferrable to cash or shop credit.

We are unable to provide a discount for tour participants who choose not to taste the wine.

    How to pay

We accept payment via bank transfer, cheques or by credit/debit cards. We are unable to take cash or payments over the phone.

    When to book

It is advisable to book as far in advance as possible. Our tour calendar fills very quickly and if you leave it until the last minute your preferred date may no longer be available.

    How to book

Please email tours@stanlakepark.com stating your preferred tour date and time, and estimated number of guests. We will get in touch as soon as possible to advise on the availability. Please note: your tour is not confirmed until we have received a deposit.

    Tour dates and times

We prefer to arrange private tours on weekdays, although in low season (autumm-winter) we might be able to accommodate the group on a weekend. The length of the tour can also be adapted to your needs (for example, if you need a shorter tour of ~ 1 hour).

    What if it’s raining?

Our tours can be adapted to the weather! The majority of the tour is inside the winery so the weather doesn’t affect it. However, if it’s pouring rain this may prohibit a visit to see some of the vines.

    What should I wear?

You don’t need any special clothing, just sensible shoes and enough clothes to keep you warm. Our winery is kept at a cool temperature so short sleeves are ok for a summer daytime visit but in winter you’ll need to wrap up warm!

    Car Parking

We have a large, free car-park at the front of the Wine Shop which can easily accommodate coaches. You're welcome to leave your car overnight.

    Children

Unfortunately our tours are unsuitable for anyone under the age of 18 and we cannot allow children of any age to accompany the tour. Sorry about that.

Pets are not allowed on tours and events inside the winery, only in the Wine Bar Garden.
